How to Keep a Glowing Complexion for Life

Have an Affair With Your Skin

Let’s begin with a little recipe that keeps my skin glowing, fresh, and youthful at 79 years of age.

 Skin Glow Recipe

  • Boil six eggs
  • Peel and mash
  • Add 4 tablespoons of aioli or mayonnaise
  • Add 4 dessertspoons of turmeric powder
  • Add 1 dessertspoon of pepper

Mix well, place in a container, and keep refrigerated. Enjoy a little each day as a dip.
I like mine on celery sticks or rice crackers for breakfast.

Note: Turmeric does not work effectively unless it is combined with black pepper. Curcumin (the active ingredient in turmeric) is poorly absorbed on its own. Black pepper contains piperine, which increases curcumin’s absorption by up to 2000%! This allows your body to make the most of its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits.

Key Benefits

  • Effective Makeup Removal: Dissolves even stubborn waterproof mascara, lipstick, and rouge.
  • Deep Cleansing: Oil attracts oil, lifting away sebum, dirt, and pollutants from the pores.
  • Moisturising & Nourishing: Rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins that leave skin soft and supple.
  • Gentle on Skin: Protects the skin’s natural barrier without stripping moisture.
  • Balances Oil Production: Removes excess oil without over-drying, helping both oily and dry skin types.
  • Suitable for All Skin Types: With the right formula, oil cleansers benefit dry, sensitive, oily, and even acne-prone skin.
  • Perfect for Double Cleansing: The ideal first step before a water-based cleanser or toner.

Why Some People Don’t Like Oil Cleansers

Usually, it’s because they don’t know how to use them! Oil and water don’t mix—so you can’t simply rinse with water.

Here’s how to do it right:

  1. Use tissues to remove most of the oil and surface grime.
  2. Wet a face cloth with warm water, press it gently to your face, and wipe.
  3. Rinse the cloth and wipe again.
  4. Finish with a toner on a cotton pad for a complete cleanse.

Your skin will thank you!

My Beauty School Memories

When I ran my online beauty school, I often travelled across Australia to support my students with practical training. Clients would be organised, and oh, what an experience that was!

Some clients—especially those working outdoors in the sun—had layers of dead skin cells. For them, dry body brushing with a bristle brush or loofah was essential.

I remember one client preparing for a full-body cleanse. Both my student and I used a loofah on her—dead skin literally filled the air! I advised her to scrub daily with a loofah, followed by an oil cleanser and skin scrub.

I even shared a recipe: pumice stone powder mixed with moisturiser. My student later told me her loofah and body scrub sales skyrocketed.

Note: Loofahs must never be shared. They are like toothbrushes—only for one person and must be kept clean.

For outdoor workers, I recommended moisturisers made with beeswax and anhydrous lanolin. Sometimes, natural animal-based products are what truly protect and repair.

The Skin–Soul Connection

There is no denying the deep connection between aromatherapy and healing your mind, body, and soul.

Using natural, organic skincare means:

  • You avoid harmful synthetics.
  • You reduce redness, irritation, breakouts, fine lines, and wrinkles.
  • You protect aroma molecules (which turn toxic in light) by choosing products in dark glass bottles, not clear ones.

A Skin Affair Means:

  1. Pampering your skin daily, ideally in the evening.
  2. Teaching your loved ones good skincare habits.
  3. Choosing only pure, organic products free from synthetics.
  4. Being sun- and wind-safe: Slip, Slop, Slap.

Why Organic Skincare Matters

Organic products protect not just your skin, but also:

  • Farm workers and their families
  • Our soil, air, and waterways
  • The health of future generations

Children are especially vulnerable to pesticides, making organic choices even more important.

Keeping Skin Youthfull:-

With The Beauty Slant Position

These days, they make Beauty Slant beds. They call them Body Slant Beds.

Yes, skin ages every day as we do—but the process can be delayed with consistent care.

  • Masks: Apply at least once a week to refresh and firm.
  • Slanting: Gravity pulls skin downward, but the Beauty Slant Position (head lower than feet) reverses this, boosting circulation and reducing sagging.

Daily slanting can help with:

  • Aching legs and ankles
  • Baggy bust or belly
  • Circulation problems
  • Headaches
  • Sagging skin
  • Hair thinning
    …and more.

These days, they even make Body Slant Beds to make it easier! I now have a seniors’ bed that moves into different positions—what a blessing.
